Problems solved with modular homes – Part 1
Problem: “I want to build my own home, but I want a home that is priced right. Frankly, I can’t find the home I want at the price I’m interested in paying”.
Solution: Modular homes may offer the solution you’re looking for. Custom-built on-site homes usually cost much more than a modular home. That’s because individual custom-built on-site homes are built by people who buy enough materials for the project and bring in a number of crews to build the home. There is a time factor involved here, as well.
However, custom-built modular homes are built by companies who buy the materials in bulk and can pass the savings on to their customers. So if you’re buying a modular home instead of building one yourself, your costs will be less. As well, the cost of labor is substantially less because you are not hiring a crew to come in and do one job.
In a sense, the modular home company is getting specialized labor “in bulk” as well, and passing the savings on to you. And building your own home can take a year or more to bring together all the necessary people and materials and permits and equipment to get your home built while a modular home can be erected in just a couple of days.
Compare the cost to build, and the time to build and the answer is clear. If you want a new home at a good price, modular homes are the best choice.
